Pathways International Taps New Managing Partner to Bring Advanced Analytics to Africa

Pathways International welcomes Mr. Gideon Aswani

Data Science and Big Data Analytics company, Pathways International Limited has tapped long time media executive Mr. Gideon Aswani as its new Chief Executive for Africa. Mr. Aswani, whose latest role at Nation Media Group was Head of Data & Analytics, has years of experience at senior management and leadership, and previously worked for Thomas De La Rue (K) LTD and East African Breweries Ltd.

Mr. Aswani, a mechanical engineer by profession, also holds an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Leicester (UK) and has certification in Data Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is credited with setting up the Data & Applied Analytics Center at Nation Media Group.

Pathways International CEO and President Mr. Joel Onditi hailed Mr. Aswani as the “right leader for the big data and analytics era in Africa”.

“With years of experience as a senior business leader with a top African media company, Gideon understands the unique opportunities and challenges that face businesses and consumers in the continent. He also has the experience and a deep understanding of data science and advanced Big Data analytics hence he is well-positioned to lead Pathways International and its clients in Africa to adopt these new technologies as the new oil to fuel their growth” said Mr. Onditi, who runs the Pathways International North America businesses from Colorado, USA.

The move to bring a seasoned leader to its Africa operations shows that Pathways is looking to align its Africa offerings even further by tailoring them to address local challenges.
